Why The G Spot Is Called Like That

Everybody talk all the time about the G spot, but have you ever wondered why the famous G spot is called like that? What does the letter G come from? Let’s find more new information about G point!

Letter G comes from the famous gynecologist Ernst Gräfenberg. Gräfenberg is the doctor who discovered the G-spot and it is he who invented the IUD.

Gräfenberg was among the jews arrested by the Nazi soldiers in 1937, but managed to emigrate in the United States where he opened a gynecological office and studied the urethral stimulation. He was the first that developed a theory linked to a possible erotic area on the anterior wall of the vagina along the urethra.

A Dutch doctor, Regnier de Graaf, had mentioned the same erotic area in the 17th century. He called it the woman’s prostate. Although Graaf is the first who really discovered G spot, his discovery is attributed to Gräfenberg who published in 1981 in the Journal of Sex Research a study called “Female Ejaculation: a Case Study”.

Only a year later, the location and name of this area in the woman’s vagina was named G after the appearance of the book ” The G Spot and Other Recent Discoveries About Human Sexuality” by Alice Kahn Ladas and Beverly Whipple.
